This month╒s quiz material was thought up by Dean Esmay, who got a lot of help from Todd Lewis, Jeff Jones, Jay Jennings, and Dan Tobias coming up with specific questions and their wordings.
Those of you who grew up reading comics (like a lot of us here did), or who still read comics (like a lot of us here do) should enjoy this quiz immensely. Those of you who didn╒t, well... pooh on you, go find some other game to play!
How up are you on the life and times of the likes of Superman, Spiderman, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, Batman, Wonder Woman, and others of their breed from the Marvel and DC comics universes? This quiz will help you find out! Some of the questions are pretty easy and should be well known by almost anyone. Others are of medium difficulty and should be known by regular, if casual, comic readers. Others are very tough and will only be answerable by real superhero comics buffs. Whichever type you are, you should enjoy this little series of questions and answers!

The questions (a mixture of hard and easy ones) will appear at the top of your computer screen. At the bottom is a bundle of dynamite with a lit fuse. Type the answer to the question and press Return before the dynamite explodes. But don╒t fret if you╒re blown up╤you have 5 lives total. To give up on a question, press the Option key. To pause, hit Escape. To quit entirely, hit Command-Q (Apple-Q).
Yes, you will have to type the answers out by hand. We have done our best to allow for multiple correct answers; for example, if an answer to a question is Spider-Man, the program might also allow Peter Parker as an acceptable substitute. The program also ignores upper/lower case completely and it will try to compensate for other reasonable variations in spelling (and sometimes even unreasonable variations!), so if an answer is Spider-Man, the program will try to accept variations like ╥spiderman,╙ ╥spider man,╙ ╥spider-man,╙ and so on. So, you should concentrate on answering the question correctly more than trying to figure out exactly what the program will expect - it will try to work with you and allow for reasonable variations.
On the other hand, try to be reasonable yourself. In general, the simplest, shortest answer will give you a correct response, and only one answer is required for each question. For example, when asked what Superman╒s girlfriend╒s name is, you don╒t need to try to list every single femme who ever had a crush on the Man of Steel; one name will do (and I we think you probably know the one we╒re thinking of!).
To see the help screen press ? while running the quiz. You╒ll find instructions on viewing the about box, toggling the sound on and off, and quitting the game. There╒s also a high scores screen where you can appear╤╤if you╒re trivial enough.
By the way, to ╥give up╙ on any question and see its answer, just hit the Option (closed-apple) key.
There are a total of 80 questions in this quiz, and 21 levels. Every time you answer four questions in a row correctly, you╒ll go up a level and receive bonus points based on the level you╒ve reached (the higher the level, the more the bonus points). The maximum possible score is 1,000, which will require that you answer every single question, including the last one, correctly. Good luck!
Select ╥File Installer...╙ from the File Menu (or press I) and the Installer will be launched. Then highlight ╥Quizzical GS: Heroes & Villains╙ by clicking on it. Next, be sure the disk you want to copy the files to is inserted and click on the Disk button until that disk comes up. Click on the Install button and the copying will be done.
Note: To run Quizzical GS, you also need Tool 029 (the Ace Tool Set) in your System:Tools folder. So, if you have trouble, that may be it. Call 1-318-221-8311 if you have any other trouble.
